From the gym to Starbucks: These are the new protein drinks coming this month
Starbucks adds Protein Lattes and Cold Foam drinks to its fall menu, offering up to 36g of protein per beverage in 10 flavors, including pumpkin and pecan.

In addition to the Pumpkin Spice lineup returning to Starbucks’ menu this fall, the beverage giant will introduce a few other changes starting in late September.
For coffee drinkers looking to add more protein to their diets, these new menu items might be appealing. Starbucks announced that beginning September 29, it will launch a series of Protein Lattes made with protein-boosted milk, which will add between 15 to 36 grams of protein per grande (16-ounce) beverage, according to a company statement earlier this month. A select number of iced beverages featuring Protein Cold Foam will also be added to Starbucks’ permanent menu, which the company says will boost protein macros by 19 to 26 grams.
“These new protein beverages are part of the company’s strategy to drive innovation and modernize its menu,” reads a press release from Starbucks announcing the new items.
Starbucks has also seen major success with its cold foam offering—a frothy milk topping that sometimes includes heavy cream for added texture. Since its debut, cold foam has surged in popularity, now appearing in 1 out of every 7 beverages ordered, according to the company.
What flavors of Protein Cold Foam will be released?
Close to a dozen flavors will be released, along with two seasonal options for fall. These include the standard version, plus banana, vanilla (including a sugar-free option), chocolate, matcha, salted caramel, and brown sugar. For fall, customers will be able to add pumpkin or pecan protein-packed cold foam to their drinks—these seasonal flavors will be swapped out later in the year.
