How many Oscars does Anthony Hopkins have and how many times has he been nominated for the Oscars?

Philip Anthony Hopkins, known as Anthony Hopkins, is a Welsh actor, composer, director, producer, draughtsman, writer, musician, and painter. In 2021, he became the oldest person to win an Academy Award for Best Actor for his role in ‘The Father’.

Hopkins has been nominated for the Academy Awards six times and has won twice. His first nomination and award came in 1992 as Best Actor for ‘The Silence of the Lambs’. Two years later, he was nominated in the same category for ‘The Remains of the Day’. In 1996, he was nominated again as Best Actor for ‘Nixon’, and in 1998, he received his fourth nomination for Amistad, this time as Best Supporting Actor. He was also nominated in this same category in 2020 for ‘The Two Popes’, in which he portrayed Pope Benedict XVI.

Anthony Hopkins rose to international fame mainly for his portrayal of Hannibal Lecter in the films ‘The Silence of the Lambs’, ‘Hannibal’, and ‘Red Dragon’. He has also excelled in many other roles, such as ‘The Elephant Man’, ‘The Hunchback of Notre Dame’, ‘The Bounty’, ‘Bram Stoker’s Dracula’, ‘Howards End’, ‘Nixon’, ‘The Mask of Zorro’, ‘Hearts in Atlantis’, ‘The World’s Fastest Indian’, ‘Fracture’, ‘The Wolfman’, ‘Noah’, and playing ‘Alfred Hitchcock’.

He was the star of HBO’s ‘Westworld’. In terms of more commercially-oriented films, he played Odin in the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s ‘Thor’ trilogy, as well as appearing in the fifth film of the Transformers franchise.
