William Bradley Pitt is an American actor, model, and film producer. He has been recognized for both his acting work and producing some films, which adds up to six nominations for the Academy Awards, of which he has won two. Pitt began his career as an actor by appearing as a guest on television programs such as ‘Dallas’ (1987). Later, he received press recognition for his performance in the film Thelma & Louise (1991).

His first starring roles were in high-budget productions such as ‘A River Runs Through It’ (1992) and ‘Interview with the Vampire’ (1994). In 1995, he received good critical acclaim for his performances in ‘Se7en’ and ‘Twelve Monkeys’, with the latter earning him his first Oscar nomination in 1996 for ‘Best Supporting Actor.’

Four years later, he starred in ‘Fight Club’ (1999), and shortly thereafter he appeared in ‘Ocean’s Eleven’ (2001) and its sequels. His highest commercial successes include ‘Troy’ (2004) and ‘Mr. & Mrs. Smith’ (2005). It wasn’t until 2008 that Pitt received his second Academy Award nomination for his role in The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.

Four years later, his third and fourth nominations arrived for ‘Moneyball’, one in the ‘Best Actor’ category and another in ‘Best Picture,’ as he was a producer. Subsequently, in 2014, he received his first Oscar after ‘12 Years a Slave’, produced by Pitt, won the ‘Best Picture’ award.

In 2016, he received another ‘Best Picture’ nomination for’ The Big Short’, which he also produced. In 2020, the actor received his first Oscar in acting as ‘Best Supporting Actor’ for ‘Once Upon a Time in Hollywood’.
