Season 19 of The Bachelorette is coming to an end with “the most emotional finale” in its history to be presented live Tuesday 20 September. The second part of a two-episode grand finale sees the pair of Bachelorettes with just one eligible bachelor a piece out of what had been four finalists.

The first ever duo in the franchises history, Gabby Windey and Rachel Recchia, were both runners-up in Season 26 of The Bachelor. They’ve been whittling down a group of 32 men, the largest pool ever, to find the one Mr Right over the past ten weeks.

Both women will join Jesse Palmer live in-studio to have more difficult conversations as “a shocking secret will be revealed”. The conclusions to their journeys will play out during the second part three-hour Season 19 finale airing on Tuesday 20 September at 8pm (ET) on ABC and streaming on Hulu. Just after that, spectators will find out if the rumors of who the next Bachelor will be for the 27th installment of that franchise are true during After the Final Rose.

Gabby and Rachel are left with just one bachelor each

Gabby, 31, an ICU nurse from Illinois, and Rachel, 26, a flight instructor from Florida, have had the largest group of candidates in the show’s history to choose from and have had to make dozens of eliminations to get to the final episode.

Last week’s episode saw four contenders still in the running but not evenly split between the two Bachelorettes. Rachel had three men remaining, while Gabby had just one. However, going into the grand finale it’s just one eligible bachelor per girl, so will each woman’s beau get down on one knee? We’ll have to wait to see, but the rumor mill is always spinning…

Rumors of at least one engagement coming, will there be two, or none?

From having three suitors, Rachel is down to just one after both Aven and Zach left the show the week before. Rumors are that Rachel is expecting a proposal from Tino Franco, a 28-year-old general contractor from Playa Del Rey, California.

“Waking up today, I’ve been reflecting on how far I’ve come, and Tino’s the only one here,” Rachel said on a clip released by the show. “This is the day I’ve been waiting for my whole life.”

“He says he’s ready for an engagement, but it is kind of looking him in the face at this point and I think people can get scared.”

Gabby Windey on the other hand went into the season finale with just one beau, Erich Schwer a 29-year-old real estate analyst from Bedminster, New Jersey. “I love Erich more than I ever thought,” she said. “But all I’ve ever known is rejection.”

The trailers are promising lots of emotion and drama in the grand finale episode in both women’s search for lifelong love.

Why are there two Bachelorettes on this season?

This season of The Bachelorette has two joint leads. Both Gabby and Rachel have their own history on the show, having being runners up in season 26 of The Bachelor. The pair just missed out on Clayton Echard but were excited at the prospect of starring in a joint season after becoming close friends.

“It was a huge learning process for everyone because it was such new territory,” Gabby told People before the series aired. “But the experience Rachel and I had as Bachelorettes was so special and memorable. I don’t think we would have had it any other way.

“I think people do know at this point that we do each have our own love stories. Of course it was so nice to have each other to lean on and have that built-in support as we were moving through.” Rachel added, “It’s just really amazing. We both get to have our own journeys and our own stories, but still have each other along the way.”
