Ivana Trump passes away: what was the cause of death and how old was she?
The first wife of Donald Trump and mother of Ivanka, Donald Jr., and Eric, has passed away in New York City at 73.
Ivana Trump, the mother of Ivanka, Donald Jr., and Eric, and first wife of Donald Trump passed away at seventy-three years old in her New York City apartment on Wednesday 14 July.
The cause of death is still being investigated but first responders were alerted to an incident of cardiac arrest at her home.
ABC News reporter Aaron Katersky tweeted that Ivana “was found unconscious and unresponsive at the bottom of a set of stairs in her apartment.” Law enforcement is looking into the fall and if it “contributed in any way to her death.”
What did Donald Trump say about the death of Ivana?
Ivana was born in Czechoslovakia and married Donald Trump in 1977. The two New York City socialites were married for fifteen years, during which she held high level positions within the Trump Organization.
The former apprentice star and president, took to his social media platform, Truth, to share a message after news broke of her death.
“I am very saddened to inform all of those that loved her, of which there are many, that Ivana Trump has passed away at her home in New York City” said Trump.
“She was a wonderful, beautiful, and amazing woman, who led a great and inspirational life. Her pride and joy were her three children, Donald Jr., Ivanka, and Eric. She was so proud of them, as we were all so proud of her. Rest In Peace, Ivana!”
Ivana was an very talented olympic skier. In the wake of her passing, New York Times podcaster, Michael Baraboro has recovered excerpts from an interview with where she retold the story of when Donald Trump learned of her talent on the slopes.
Donald told her to follow him down the mountain and took off. When he stopped a bit further down the hill, he called to her to come down. To show off her skills, she did two flips in the air and another two right in front of him. He was furious. She told the NYT that “Donald was so angry, he took off his skis, his ski boots, and walked up to the restaurant... he could not take it.”
