Memorial Day 2022: Not quite Black Friday, but expect some great deals from these shops

The official kick off to summer is just around the corner Here’s a rundown of some of the deals you’ll find on Memorial Day, and some are already available.

The official kick off to summer is just around the corner. For those looking for a reprieve from inflation, major retailers are offering some great deals for Memorial Day, some of which are already available.

Whether you need to get your wardrobe ready for summer or spruce up the inside or outside of your home, maybe both. Here’s a rundown of some of the deals you’ll find.

Amazon:

For those who can’t wait for Amazon Prime Day, which is slated for sometime in July with no specific date announced yet, Amazon will be slashing prices on fashion, home goods, kitchen essentials, tech, and more. One deal that may catch the eye is up to 30% off Select HDTVs, but this doesn’t apply to purchases from other sellers on the Amazon.com website.

Bed Bath & Beyond:

Looking for kitchenware or kitchen appliances? Perhaps outdoor accessories or something special to spruce up inside to escape the heat? Bed Bath & Beyond is offering up to 50% off sale and clearance items.

JCPenney:

Getting ready for summertime, whether it be apparel that will “add some patriotic flair to your backyard BBQ” or livening up your home, you may find it by checking out JCPenney’s Memorial Day sale. Save up to 50%, plus an extra 30%, on home décor, for the kitchen, the bathroom or bedroom.

Select clothing styles are up to 40% off an don’t miss the extra 40% off flash sale on kids and baby apparel already discounted up to 35%, but it ends 24 May.

Lowe’s:

Although the three-day Memorial Day weekend is a great time to get away to the beach or the great outdoors, it can be a good time for doing home improvement projects to get ready for the summer ahead. Lowe’s is offering savings on a wide range of products to get the job done. Shoppers can also take advantage of Daily Deals that are available for 24 hours but only online.

Macy’s:

Shoppers looking for new fashions for the season will find great savings at Macy’s as well as on beauty and fragrance products. If you’re looking to redecorate your abode or change out your old mattress, Macy’s has savings of up to 60% on furniture and mattresses, in addition to outdoor living items and more.

Overstock:

Overstock is already offering markdowns of up to 70% on mattresses, kitchen appliances, patio furniture and rugs. On top of the deep discounts on thousands of items during the Memorial Day Clearance Sale, customers can get free shipping.

REI:

Summer is a time to get outdoors and there is no better time than now to get the gear you need at REI. Through 30 May shoppers can get up to 30% off of just about everything you’ll need for a camping trip or enjoying other summer activities including biking, climbing and hiking. REI Co-op members can also get 20% off one full-price item or an extra 20% off one REI Outlet item.

Target:

The Summer Savings Event at Target is already happening and runs through 30 May. Temperatures are expected to be above average this summer, so to cool off women’s swimsuits are marked down up to 30%. To keep the kids entertained Target is offering up to 50% on toys and outdoor play items.

It just wouldn’t be summer without a BBQ, and the price of grills and the necessary paraphernalia have been discounted. You can also get up to 40% off outdoor furniture, décor and fire pits.
