Update:

America’s most searched for beer has been revealed: and there is one clear winner. Milwaukee beer brand Miller is, by far and away, the most popular drink of choice when it comes to searching Google for a pint or a bottle on a Friday evening, with the competitors not coming anywhere close in the latest rankings.

Coffeeness, a German website that, as you may guess, spends most of its time talking about coffee, has revealed the favourite beers of Americans, state by state.

The site analysed data from YouGov’s Popularity Ratings as well as Google Trends before going deeper and seeing which state searched for each beverage.

Most searched beers in the USA:

  • Miller
  • Coors
  • Guinness
  • Heineken
  • Busch
  • Budweiser
  • Bud Light
  • Blue Moon
  • Corona

Miller is America’s favourite beer

Miller came out the clear winner, with over 30 states (60%) of the people’s vote. “Miller’s widespread appeal likely stems from its accessibility, consistent flavour profile, and strong marketing presence,” the report explains.

Coors still has a stronghold in plenty of states, mainly due to its history with the US and a perpetually strong marketing campaign. The same goes for Bud Light, it’s simply a staple of US culture at this point and is likely going to remain on the list for a long time.
