Twenty years ago a new unofficial holiday was created to commemorate man’s best friend, National Dog Day. It is celebrated every on August 26 and to help owners show their love for their furry friends companies are making some pawsome deals and freebies available.

From now until September 6 you can enter Bark’s National Dog Day Tattoo Contest. The subscription dog toys and treats company is asking owners who want to immortalize their dog with a tattoo to send a why you want a tattoo of your dog along with photos. For the third annual contest the number of people who could win a $150 Visa card to put towards a dog-inspired tattoo has been doubled to 200.
Chewy
Chewy is offering new customers a free $20 eGift card with an order of $49 or more of eligible items and enter the code WELCOME. The offer is valid through September 23 until 6:29 pm ET.
Mars
Mars Inc is offering a Summer Treat Pack with goodies for both dogs and their owners. Starting August 26 you can claim yours for free at the promotion’s website while supplies last. The pact comes with a M&M’S Ice Cream Cookie Sandwich and GREENIES Dental Treats for Dogs.
Starbucks
If you are craving Starbucks’ Pumpkin Spice Latte, you’re in luck. The Seattle-based coffeehouse chain announced last week that it is fall menu is back. A when you swing by one near you, order a Puppuccino for your best friend. That is if he or she doesn’t have an intolerance to dairy products.

Shake Shack
Shake Shack doesn’t have a specific deal for National Dog Day but you may be able to get yourself a freebie when you treat Fido to a Pooch-ini or a Bag O’ Bones from the chain’s year-round dog menu. From now through August 30, you can get a free hot dog with a minimum purchase of $10 by using the code DOGDAYS. Orders must be placed either In-Shack at a kiosk, on the Shake Shack Mobile App or via shakeshack.com.
