New, previously unreleased audio reveals sounds in the last 20 seconds of the Titan submersible
The US Coast Guard has released a short audio clip believed to have been captured from the final moments of the submersible before it imploded.

It was back in June 2023 when OceanGate’s Titan submersible vanished in the Atlantic Ocean during a mission to explore the wreckage of the Titanic. Now, the US Coast Guard has released a 20-second audio recording linked to the disaster.
The final sound of the Titan tragedy
Investigators believe the recording includes the sound of the implosion, a crucial piece of evidence in the ongoing inquiry into the incident. The noise – captured 900 miles (1,448 km) from the accident site – features a muted explosion-like sound, followed by an eerie silence.

The Coast Guard described the recording as the “suspected acoustic signature” of the implosion, which claimed the lives of Stockton Rush, Hamish Harding, Paul-Henri Nargeolet, Shahzada Dawood, and his son Suleman Dawood.
According to ABC News, the audio was recorded at 9:34 a.m. ET on June 18, 2023, approximately 90 minutes after the Titan submerged around 8 a.m. off the coast of Newfoundland, Canada. The vessel is believed to have lost contact with its operator about an hour and 45 minutes after launch. A Canadian ship reportedly detected the implosion at the time, though it was unable to confirm the exact cause.
