Tragedy has struck at the Abundant Life Christian School with multiple injuries reported after a gunman opened fire at a school in Madison, Wisconsin. Police say that the wounded have been taken to hospitals some wit life treatening injuries.
Police Chief Shon Barnes shared some details with the press lamenting that another of these horrible acts has taken place.

He originally informed reporters that three people had died, including the juvenile shooter, who was a student at the school. The number of fatalies has risen to five.
Barnes has informed that one teacher and one student were among the victims. He still hasn’t provided more information on the shooter other than that they were a student at the school.
Police Chief Barnes told reporters that no officers fired weapons in their response to the shooting. He could not confirm who the victims were until their families have been notified.
Barnes said that seven people were transported to hospital, their conditions ranged from minor to life threatening. Among them were the deceased victims and the shooter.
He said that police received a report of the shooting at 10:57 am at the school located on the eastside at 4901 E Buckeye Rd. Police Chief Barnes told reporters that no officers fired weapons in their response to the shooting.
The school has around 335 students enrolled in kindergarten through 12th grade. A unification center has been set up to provide information and for families and students to be reunited.
Other schools in the area have been put on lockdown as a precautionary measure. Barnes said that there does not appear to be an imminent threat.
“I am closely monitoring the incident at Abundant Life Christian School in Madison. We are praying for the kids, educators, and entire Abundant Life school community as we await more information and are grateful for the first responders who are working quickly to respond,” Governor Tony Evers posted on social media.
