Snowstorm expected on New Years Eve and Jan. 1 in the U.S.: These states will be hit the hardest
According to weather forecasts, the end of the year in the United States will be accompanied by snow and rain in some states.

The end‑of‑year celebrations continue across the United States, and as Americans get ready for New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day, the country is bracing for some notable weather changes during the holiday stretch.
According to AccuWeather meteorologist Brandon Buckingham, most of the nation will enjoy relatively calm conditions. Still, a few regions could see enough snow to create hazardous travel, especially for those hitting the roads for the festivities.
“Most of the country can expect fairly quiet weather for New Year’s Eve,” Buckingham said. “However, there’s one area to watch closely — from the Upper Midwest through the Great Lakes and into the Northeast — where snow could lead to slick and slippery roads.”

Buckingham also warned that a New Year’s Eve snowstorm is expected to sweep in from Canada and move into the northern United States.
“A storm approaching from Canada between New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day is expected to bring accumulating snow and a surge of cold air across the Midwest, the Great Lakes, and the Northeast,” he added.

Rain for the West Coast
Meanwhile, the West Coast is gearing up for rounds of rain stretching from California to Oregon and Washington. The rainfall is expected to gradually ease as the days go on.
Forecasters also note that on New Year’s Day, a storm spinning over the Pacific near Mexico could push additional clouds and showers into these same states.
