This year, maximum Supplemental Security Income benefits rose to $943 for individuals and $1,415 for couples, but the specific amount depends on each beneficiary. Meanwhile, the average amount received by retired workers is approximately $1,907 for this year.

Payments are sent via direct deposit to recipients who have shared their bank account details with the government agency in order to receive their money through the bank each month.
