The Epstein files are set to be released on Friday: These are some of the celebrities who appear on the list
The American public is anxious to know what and who is in the Justice Department’s Epstein files set to be released on Friday.
The Justice Department is required by law to release on Friday all the Epstein files that it has in its possession which could potentially reveal the names of more who had dealings with the disgraced financier. The Trump administration and the president’s loyalists have fought hard to keep the information under wraps since Trump was told that his name appeared in the files.
However, a veto-proof majority in both chambers of Congress voted to have them made public in November. Still, it is unclear what the DOJ will hand over when the deadline expires at the end of the week and how much of the material will be new as troves of information have already been disclosed.
Those various releases have exposed the accused sex trafficker’s connections with many high-profile academics, businesspeople, celebrities, and politicians, including foreign dignitaries.
“Everybody knew this man,” Trump said earlier this month at the White House when Democrats released more photos from the Epstein estate, which he was in three of them. “He has photos with everybody. He has hundreds and hundreds of people that have photos with him.”
“That’s no big deal, I know nothing about it,” the president added.
Famous people that have appeared in the Epstein files
The documents that have been made public and reviewed by news outlets contain Jeffrey Epstein’s appointment books, calendar entries, flight logs, pictures and even a drawing from Donald Trump wishing him a Happy Birthday. These have revealed a web of social and professional connections.
While the nature of each relationship varies, and in many cases no wrongdoing on the part of the celebrity has been alleged, the records show a much more extensive network of consistent interaction than had previously been acknowledged.
Larry Summers
Larry Summers, a former Treasury secretary and ex-president of Harvard University, stepped back from all his public commitments after a series of communications he had with Epstein became public. Summers had asked for advice from Epstein between November 2018 and July 2019 about how to pursue a woman whom he called a “mentee.”
Summer’s wife since 2005, Elisa New, an American literature professor at Harvard, also had communications with Epstein in which she discussed literature with him. In particular, sharing with him that she was going to read ‘Lolita’, and recommended that he read ‘My Antonia’, which has “similar themes to Lolita,” she told Epstein.
Woody Allen
Filmmaker Woody Allen and his wife Soon‑Yi Previn appear to have been near-constant companions of Epstein between 2014 and 2019. Their calendars list close to one hundred instances of shared time, including trips to Epstein’s New Mexico ranch and Florida residence.
While Allen has maintained he only engaged socially, and always in the presence of his wife, the raw frequency of encounters raises questions about how he and Epstein became ever-present associates.
Kathryn Ruemmler
On the business and legal side, former White House counsel Kathryn Ruemmler emerges from the documents as a recurring contact. Her calendar shows dozens of engagements with Epstein, even as federal scrutiny intensified.
While a Goldman Sachs spokesperson may have come out to claim that the relationship was professional and based on referrals, the public record of so many meetings is certainly striking. They told CBS: “As we’ve said before, and has been repeatedly reported, Ms. Ruemmler had a professional relationship with Mr. Epstein when she was the global chair of the white collar defense and investigations practice at Latham & Watkins.”
Deepak Chopra and Peter Attia
Epstein’s curiosity in wellness and longevity research also drew figures like physician-author Deepak Chopra and doctor Peter Attia to his orbit. The files show frequent sessions with Chopra, including trips abroad, and medical follow-ups with Attia noting scheduled labs and business-adjacent appointments.
Steve Bannon
Political and corporate heavyweights likewise appear. Steve Bannon, the strategist in the Trump administration who recently made headlines for saying that people should get used to the idea of Trump serving past 2028, shows up repeatedly on Epstein’s schedule through to 2019. However, the calendar does not specify the purpose of these curious meetings.
Tom Pritzker
Business leader Tom Pritzker logged nearly 30 scheduled meetings with Epstein between 2013 and 2018, according to the files. Meanwhile, former New Mexico governor Bill Richardson is recorded travelling on Epstein’s private helicopter alongside known Epstein-affiliated individuals in 2011.
