U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi was called into Congress for an oversight hearing of her department, the Department of Justice. Armed with “burn book,” a file filled with insults to use on lawmakers that gave her any hard questions, she delved into it heavily over the five hours of the hearing.

While her shouting, name-calling, and insults earned her plenty of time on late night comedy monologues, it was her attempt to change the conversation about how her department is handling the Jeffrey Epstein files that has made her a star of social media memes.

“The Dow, the Dow is over 50,000 doll[ars], I don’t know why you’re laughing, you’re a great stock trader as I hear [Rep Jamie] Raskin,” she said. “The Dow is over 50,000 right now. The S&P at almost 7,000. And the Nasdaq smashing records. American’s 401(k)s and retirement savings are booming. That’s what we should be talking about.”

Bondi insensitive comment, basically saying the economy is great, so forget about asking the DOJ’s reckless redactions of the Jeffrey Epstein files that have been released so far, exposing victims’ names while covering up those of clients, and insisting that the department investigate the sex trafficker’s accomplices, has now become the universal excuse across social media.

And it wasn’t lost on others that almost immediately after she said those words, the Dow dropped below 50,000 points. That sparked a whole other serious of memes as well related to the attorney general.
