This is the dietary supplement that the FDA has recalled because of its banned ingredient
These two dietary supplements are no longer for sale after an investigation finding new dangers to health.
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has recently issued a recall for two dietary supplements, ZoomMax and ZapMax, due to the presence of undisclosed and potentially dangerous ingredients.
Both products marketed as men’s health supplements for enhancing performance and energy, were found to contain sildenafil and diclofenac. Sildenafil, the active ingredient in Viagra, is a prescription medication for erectile dysfunction. Diclofenac is an FDA-approved drug for pain and inflammation. Neither of these substances was listed on the product labels.
The problems with these products
Sildenafil can interact dangerously with nitrates found in some prescription drugs, potentially causing a life-threatening drop in blood pressure.
Diclofenac may increase the risk of cardiovascular events and severe gastrointestinal problems.
How to report problems
The FDA encourages consumers to report side effects to their safety program.
It also noted that it is important to be aware that plenty of other dietary supplements have hidden chemicals.
