Tuesday, the actress issued a statement in which, in addition to asking for privacy and respect at this time, she announced the cause of death of her son: acute myocardial infarction and ventricular fibrillation. The son of the idol of Juliantla’s death took place in a house in the Pedregal area, south of Mexico City. The first preliminary reports from the Attorney General’s Office of Mexico City indicated that the young man had no signs of violence, so they began an investigation of the facts which showed that the death was due to natural causes.
With pain, Maribel begged for the understanding from the public and the press because she said she did not have the strength or the soul to answer messages about the death of her only son.

“I am sorry to have to communicate the departure of my beloved son Julian Figueroa, who unfortunately preceded us in this realm. He was found unconscious tonight in his room while I was at the theater. They called 911 and when the ambulance and police arrived found him already lifeless, without any trace of violence. The medical report indicates that he died of acute myocardial infarction and ventricular fibrillation.
“I beg for understanding for the deep pain we are going through, I would like to talk to all the people who are trying to communicate, but I really don’t have the strength to do it yet.
“I beg respect to everyone for our privacy and the painful time we are going through.
“His funeral honors will be held in private, with the people who loved him the most by our side.
“I’m grateful for all the messages of support and love that you have been sending me, but at this moment I do not have the spirit to answer anyone; I hope to be able to do it another time.
“Thank you all for your understanding,” read her message on Instagram.
Julián Figueroa dedicates his last post to Joan Sebastian
Just this Saturday, April 8, Julián posted on his Instagram account a message remembering his father, Joan Sebastian. It is about to be eight years since his departure; “The King of Jaripeo” (‘El Rey del Jaripeo’) died on July 15, 2015.
In Figueroa’s post dedicated to his dad, one can read: “How slowly 8 years have passed, since the day of your departure time tastes more bitter. And people proclaim that time will fix everything, but it is a vile lie, everyday hurts more and without fear of hurting susceptibilities... here it goes [...] Diehard fans say LONG LIVE THE POET OF THE PEOPLE, but I don’t give a damn, I ONLY LOVE MY DAD”.
The message, which was accompanied by an image of him and the singer-songwriter from Juliantla, ends with the following: “To hell with the Grammys, with fame and money, because my only wish is to hug you... once again. I love you daddy and if your death hurts me, it is because your life was so precious to me”.
The remains of Julián Figueroa are being watched over at a funeral home in the Pedregal area, south of Mexico City.
