What is the Panican Party? The ‘party’ being attacked by President Trump as markets tumble
Donald Trump attacks members of the ‘Panican Party’ as alarm continues to grow on Wall Street as stock values tumble following the White House’s tariff announcement.

Donald Trump has taken to social media and accused those worried about the downward spiral seen on Wall Street of forming part of the Panican Party.
The play on words takes the word panic, and adds an ‘an’ to the end, to make it sound like the Republican Party.
The ‘Panican’ Party... what is it?
In a post on X made a few hours ago, President Trump told his followers to not “be a PANICAN” which he describes as “a new party based on Weak and Stupid people.”
The United States has a chance to do something that should have been done DECADES AGO. Don’t be Weak! Don’t be Stupid! Don’t be a PANICAN (A new party based on Weak and Stupid people!). Be Strong, Courageous, and Patient, and GREATNESS will be the result!

“The United States has the chance to do something that should have been done DEC̄ADES AGO," wrote the president on social media, and called on his followers to not “Be Strong, Courageous, and Patient, and GREATNESS will be the result!"
Panic in the markets is a perilous force, often triggering a herd mentality where investors relentlessly sell off their stocks, further driving down prices. Dave Portnoy, owner of Barstool Sports, recently criticized Trump’s tariff plan but mentioned he would give the president a few weeks before forming a final opinion on the significant financial move. As the markets opened, Portnoy posted about the “Panican Party,” adding to the already tense atmosphere.
