Which state is responsible for the Powerball delay?
One state did not meet security protocols in the $1.9 billion Powerball drawing, which was meant to take place Monday night. Who can we blame for the delay?
The Powerball drawing of the record $1.9 billion jackpot had to be delayed on Monday night due to some state not meeting security protocols. Since the Multi-State Lottery Association can’t tell us who to blame (though they conveniently ruled out California), we took it upon ourselves to do some speculating over which state to point our fingers at.

One of the first states that comes to mind is obviously Florida. If you don’t understand why, just look up any of the latest news in Florida and see why it’s one of the weirdest states in America. It wouldn’t be too crazy to think a state in which people are punching delivery boys for not giving them garlic knots and throwing alligators through drive-thru windows could also be misunderstanding the necessary security protocols.
Indeed.
The other state that comes to mind is Ohio. It’s a swing state, after all. Or at least, it was at some point. Nothing could be decided until Ohio had their votes counted. So if we are waiting on them and/or things are messed up because of them, is anyone really surprised?
Indeed, it could also be Georgia for this reason.
In fact, on that note, in the 2020 election it was Arizona, Georgia, Nevada, Pennsylvania and North Carolina that we were waiting on for results, so...let’s add them to the potential states to blame!
It could also be one of the Dakotas. There just aren’t a lot of people in those states and well, it’s winter there. It could be difficult for those few people to get anywhere in person to turn in results considering all the snow and flat tires.
A curse be upon them!
