Why did Emily Ratajkowski file for divorce after being married to Sebastian Bear-McClard for four years?
The 31-year-old hinted online that she was separating from the director, and has now initiated divorce proceedings at a Manhattan Supreme Court.
Model, actress and best-selling author Emily Ratajkowski has officially filed from divorce from her husband Sebastian Bear-McClard, amid claims that the filmmaker was unfaithful during their marriage.
Court records shared by Page Six show that the 31-year-old took the first steps to legally end her marriage on 8 September, filing for divorce in a Manhattan Supreme Court. The divorce is contested, meaning that the two parties do not yet agree on the exact circumstance of the divorce and the division of assets going forward.
Rumours of infidelity have be circulating since July, when Page Six reported that Bear-McClard had slept with multiple other women during their marriage. Shortly after the reports first emerged, the model was seen in public without her wedding ring.
“Yeah, he cheated,” the source said. “He’s a serial cheater. It’s gross. He’s a dog.”
Ratajkowski hints at infidelities on social media
Given the ‘contested’ status of the divorce it is fair to assume that Bear-McClard may object to some of the claims being made about him. However Ratajkowski has given hints to suggest that her husband cheated on her, liking a number of tweets that make reference to the infidelity.
One tweet read, “can’t believe that little bitch cheated on emrata,” and another asked: “Girls, how are we celebrating Emrata’s divorce”.
She also liked a tweet stating: “emrata finally free from that man just proves that god is actually very real”.
In numerous social media posts from the past few months, Ratajkowski appeared without her wedding ring. Last month she posted a video to her official TikTok account with her dog, Colombo, alongside the caption: “The only man I want in my bed this 90lb boy.”
Ratajkoski and Bear-McClard married in 2018 in a surprise courthouse ceremony at New York City Hall. At the time, their relationship had only been public for a matter of weeks and the two had been dating for less than a year.
Afterwards, she said of the decision to have an intimate ceremony: “I love a party and I plan on having that moment, but people don’t end up enjoying their wedding as they are so stressed by the planning and having this ‘moment’. I really wanted this to just be me and him which was really special ... before the world found out we had four hours of just us.”
