Why has Kanye West’s Twitter account been suspended again?

Since Elon Musk spent his billions on acquiring the social media platform, it’s all been about free speech and reinstating previously offenders.

Update:

US magazine Rolling Stone said former members of the team involved in "Yeezy" -- the successful product line designed with the rapper -- had released a letter alleging Adidas leaders were aware of the behaviour, which went on for years, but turned a blind eye. What’s this all about? Ye has been banned from Twitter once again? Surely not, Elon Musk won’t stand for that sort of crazy censorship! Or maybe he will.

Musk tries his best with Kanye ‘Ye’ West

The social media platform’s new owner has made headlines over his absolutist free speech policy, but on Friday Twitter took steps to suspend Kanye West’s account. This comes only a couple of months after the rapper, who these days goes by the name ‘Ye’ (it’s easier to spell), had his account reinstated. The reason given: his tweets violated the social media platform’s rules. No one could have seen this coming!

Possibly due to their not being enough moderation employees left in the building, Musk, himself, took to his own platform to explain the situation.

“I tried my best. Despite that, he again violated our rule against incitement to violence. Account will be suspended.”

Late on Thursday, Twitter restricted one of Ye’s tweets. His account was then suspended within an hour after Musk responded to a Twitter user, who said “Elon Fix Kanye Please.”

Musk’s $44 billion takeover has quickly seen the likes of Donald Trump and Ye being brought back, although the entrepreneur has since stated that he had no role in the latter decision.
