One of the main new features of Pokémon Legends Arceus is the introduction of random elements that directly affect each of the areas that make up the Hisui region: space-time distortions and mass outbreaks. As we already told you in our article dedicated to how to find shiny Pokémon with the highest success rate, in this article we will explain in more detail what mass appearances are and why they are so interesting.
Mass appearances in Pokémon Legends Arceus, what are they and what are they for?
As if it were a Pokémon GO Community Day, from time to time we will see that when leaving from Jubilee Village the general map of Hisui will notify us of a mass appearance, which is essentially a nest of Pokémon of the same species concentrated in a particular point of Hisui available for only a few minutes.
So, the interesting thing about these mass appearances comes at the moment when we are presented with the opportunity to level up fast and also to look for a species more powerful than normal, with good Effort Levels, larger in size... or, why not, a shiny Pokémon.
How to use mass outbreaks to catch shiny Pokémon?
Now, how to take advantage of mass outbreaks to find a shiny Pokémon? The simplest answer is to go and participate as long as possible focusing on a single species. Take into account the information in our guide on how to find this type of Pokémon and enjoy it. For now, there is no estimate on what the odds are that one of these Pokémon will make an appearance, but considering that this can reduce the normal search time, anything is welcome.
Tips for facing mass outbreaks: save the game
- Once we reach a mass appearance, the first thing we recommend is to save the game. The reason? To make sure that, if you don't get a shiny or you are unlucky in your captures, you can replay it before an auto-save occurs (you can disable this auto-save function, by the way). Restarting the game will not remove the mass appearance if you save first.
- The main recommendation is to have Pokémon in your team that deal enough damage to almost completely weaken the target and to have moves that change their condition, such as sleepy or paralyzed, thus preventing them from inflicting damage and prolonging the battle.
- Stealth is essential in mass appearances, because if you chain many captures in a row without being seen you will speed up spawns; that is, the appearance of more species of the Pokémon starring the mass outbreak. This way, it is more likely that large, powerful or shiny species will appear in that limited period of time.
- When a shiny Poké Ball appears, the best thing to do is to have Ultra Ball at hand, the Poké Ball with the highest capture rate under normal conditions.
