Prime Video gives us the first glimpse of Fallout, the series that will take us to the wasteland

Celebrating the franchise’s 25th anniversary, the production company behind the series gives us a first look at the adaptation based on the video game.

Update:
Prime Video gives us the first glimpse of Fallout, the series that will take us to the wasteland

Welcome to Vault 33. Prime Video and Kilter Films have shown the first official look at the Fallout-based TV series.

As part of Fallout's 25th-anniversary celebrations, Prime Video shared through their Twitter account a shot inside the vault where we can see three Vault dwellers -well, 4 if you look closely- at the entrance to the vault. We can see in the image that it is Vault 33 thanks to the number on the back of their jumpsuit.

Fallout: everything we know about the series

The Fallout series is being adapted by Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy, creators of Westworld. While the duo are heading the project, Todd Howard, executive producer at Bethesda Game Studios, is also involved in the development as executive producer. He already assured that he and other members of the company had been "looking for a decade at various ways to bring Fallout to the small or big screen".

While production was confirmed to start this year, there are still no plot details about the series. Bethesda's official website always refers to the characteristics of the saga: the contrast between “the harshness of the wasteland is set against the previous generation’s utopian idea of a better world through nuclear energy. It is serious in tone, yet sprinkled with moments of ironic humor and B-movie-nuclear-fantasies."

So far, it is known that the cast will feature the talents of Walton Goggins, Ella Purnell, Kyle MacLachlan, Xelia Mendes-Jones and Aaron Moten.

Video game series, a constant for the coming years

The Fallout series is not the only one coming to the small screen in the next few months. This year alone, we have had the arrival of series that have met expectations, or even opted to be canceled. This year alone we had the appearance of the Halo series on Paramount+, the already cancelled Resident Evil and The Witcher 3 -with Season 3 coming in Summer 2023- on Netflix, among others. The future looks just as bright with the upcoming The Last of Us series starring Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey. Other titles are still in the very early stages of development, such as the series based on Horizon Zero Dawn for Netflix. Many video games are coming to our screens but in a different format.
