The unfortunate record of GTA VI that no fan of the saga is happy about
The new installment of Rockstar Games’ title is set to launch in 2025, barring any last-minute delays.

Take-Two Interactive is in no rush with the marketing campaign for Grand Theft Auto VI. The American company knows that expectations are sky-high, and players are eager to try the game. Any mention of the title spreads like wildfire.
Rockstar Games has faced several major leaks, including the theft of images and videos from an old build, as well as the premature publication of the first official trailer. The studio was forced to upload the trailer hours later, back in December 2023.
Since then, there hasn’t been a single trailer or image released. Apart from occasional comments by Strauss Zelnick, president of Take-Two Interactive, there’s been little news. This has led to an unfortunate record: over 500 days since Rockstar’s official channel released the first—and so far, only—trailer for GTA VI.
What we know about GTA VI
The game will feature Lucía and Jason as protagonists and is set in Vice City, inspired by Miami. Based on trailer details, some fans have attempted to reconstruct the map.
Release date and industry impact
Despite persistent rumors of delays, Rockstar Games maintains that the game will launch in 2025 for PS5, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S. The developer has been firm in defending the release timeline.
Take-Two and other companies believe that such a major release will benefit the gaming industry, which has struggled in recent years with restructuring and layoffs.
