Toyotaro reveals the difference between Frieza, Goku, and Vegeta, but shares bad news: “I don’t think I can dedicate that much time to it”
The infamous villain has been weaker than his rivals since the Namek saga, but his latest transformation seems to have changed everything.

It has been over a year since Akira Toriyama, the creator of Dragon Ball, passed away unexpectedly, leaving behind an immense legacy and a lasting impact on global pop culture. Since then, the Dragon Ball Super manga has been on hiatus, as Toriyama had been working on it alongside his successor, Toyotaro.
Now, Toyotaro is preparing the manga’s return, and the latest Volume 24 cover has left fans stunned. The illustration features the most powerful versions of Goku, Vegeta, Gohan, Piccolo, and Broly, who must face the new threat posed by Black Frieza.
The strongest warriors of Dragon Ball Super vs. Black Frieza
As fans know, the Volume 24 cover of Dragon Ball Super showcases:
- Orange Piccolo
- Beast Gohan
- Ultra Instinct Goku
- Ultra Ego Vegeta
- Maximum Power Super Saiyan Broly
“The characters on the Volume 24 cover are in their strongest forms,” Toyotaro recently confirmed. “As I mentioned before, I wanted to show the balance of power between the five, so I drew them this way. I worked harder than ever on this cover, but I don’t think I’ll be able to dedicate that much time to another one in the future. Also, on the back cover, there’s Black Frieza, whose power difference is also concerning,” he added.
Black Frieza: The strongest being in the universe?
Everything suggests that Black Frieza has become the most powerful and lethal being in the universe, surpassing even Goku and Vegeta in their strongest states.
During the Granolah Survivor Arc, when Gaas wished to become the strongest mortal, Frieza appeared and ruined his plans. Frieza had spent ten years training in a pocket universe, similar to the Hyperbolic Time Chamber, following a strategy akin to Goku and Vegeta when they surpassed their Golden Form at the beginning of Dragon Ball Super.

A new look at Black Frieza
Now, fans have a new glimpse of Black Frieza thanks to the back cover of Dragon Ball Super Volume 24. His design remains consistent with his classic most powerful form, but with metallic patterns and dark colors on his limbs, neck, and tail.
How far will Frieza go with this terrifying new form? Will this be the end of Goku, Vegeta, and company, or will they respond with new power-ups to counter the threat of Black Frieza?
