ERIC ESPADAAFP

Puerto Rico wil take on Mexico Friday night in quarterfinals after a very impressive run in the group stage in which they beat the Nicaragua, Israel, Dominican Republic, only losing to group leader Venezuela in their second game.

Their strong pitching, excellent hitting and tough defense has taken Puerto Rico this far. They’ll be facing a tough rival in Mexico, who beat the United States and look very solid all around

I understand how Mets fans are hurting. But while for so many people the regular season is what counts, playing in the WBC means just as much to all of us.
