A former soccer player who now lives and works in Barcelona, Paul has been living in Spain since 2011. Ten years later in 2021 is when he joined the Diario AS family and he's been churning out articles about sports ever since. When not working, Paul enjoys hanging with his friends or playing soccer with his team. Aside from those two, he's also a person who loves learning about history, culture, human behavior and the way in which it's affected by the other two. He continues to look for opportunities to grow both mentally and professionally.
Update:

With stats already playing a prominent role in Major League Baseball, the World Baseball Classic brings with it the opportunity to see how those numbers are in play on the international stage, which it makes it even more special.

Though the field is laden with MLB stars, it’s been interesting to note that the slugger who has climbed to the top of the pile isn’t exactly a household name. That’s not to say that Canada’s Edouard Julien isn’t talented. The 23-year-old was the 18th overall pick in the 2019 Draft for the Minnesota Twins and with good reason, but his numbers have been a pleasant surprise to say the least. Just behind Julien is Japan’s Yuhei Nakamura who has definitely been putting his bat to good use for the ‘Blue Samurai.’

On the mound we’ve seen a stellar performance from Cuba’s Miguel Romero. Currently with the Oakland A’s affiliate, Las Vegas Aviators, Romero is putting up numbers that may well result in him being called up to the big leagues when this tournament is over. Then, there is Jose De Leon from Puerto Rico and of course the two-way sensation himself, Shohei Ohtani. With all that said, you can find our lists of stats for batters and pitchers alike just below.
