Explicit Texas Rangers misprint hats are selling online for $1,000
Several styles of New Era caps have been removed from the MLB online store. The Rangers cap spells out a vulgar Spanish word.

The MLB has hastily removed a series of baseball caps from its online store after fans realised that one of the style spelled out a vulgar Spanish word.
The New Era ‘Overlap’ line features the team name with the team’s logo superimposed over the top, block out the central part of the word. In most cases that looks fine, but the Texas Rangers' ‘T’ logo now appears to spell the word ‘TETAS’ on the front of the caps.

Theirs is the most noticeable of the errors but two other teams have had their designs pulled from the store. The Houston Astros hat with the letters ‘ASHOS’ and the Los Angles Angels hat that reads ‘ANAELS’ have also been removed from sale. The remaining 27 MLB teams still have their Overlap collection caps available to purchase.
The mistakes were first notice last weekend and, despite the MLB’s decision to stop sales, a significant number appear to have been sold. In recent days the hats have been appearing on eBay with a huge mark-up on their initial retail price.
The Athletic reports that six of the now-removed caps have sold since Thursday with prices varying between $200 and $1,000. Initially, they were listed on the MLB online store for $44.99.
Teams are still in spring training this week but the 2025/26 MLB season begins on March 18 with a two game series between the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Chicago Cubs in Tokyo, Japan. The Rangers finished last season with a losing record despite having won the World Series the year before. They will be hoping that things go more smoothly this season but things have not started as the front office would have hoped.
