If Witt is out for an extended period of time, it would be a huge blow to the Royals. The 2024 American League MVP runner-up was the second overall pick in 2019 and has been a vital part of the Royals' recent comeback.
In 2024, the team made it to the postseason for the first time since winning the World Series in 2015. They went 88-76 and were second in the AL Central. Witt appeared in 161 games, leading the league with a .332 batting average and 211 hits and notched 32 homeruns and 109 RBIs.

Witt won the AL Gold Glove Award and had 9.4 Wins Above Replacement and was chosen as the AL Player of the Month in July last year. It’ll be a huge loss if he’s to miss significant time this season.
