Team Cuba
Cuba will be looking to bounce back after losing their first game against the Netherlands, in a match featuring the two favorites to advance in the pool. Cuba scored first, but managed only three hits in the opener, which ended at 4-2. It’s the first time that Major League Baseball players are included in the country’s roster. They will be depending on Chicago White Sox outfielder Luis Robert, who recorded a .946 OPS in 2021 and made his professional debut in the Cuban National Series at the age of 18, hitting .401 with 12 home runs in 53 games.
