Judge unhappy with Yankee Stadium chants

Soto chants impact at Yankees

On Monday, Soto rejoined the Yankees lineup during their visit to Kauffman Stadium, where they secured a 4-2 victory against the Kansas City Royals. This return came after he had been sidelined for a few days due to discomfort in his left forearm.

Despite being absent from the weekend series at home against the LA Dodgers, Soto’s presence was strongly felt. Fans at the stadium erupted into a unified chant of “We Want Soto,” expressing their fervent wish for the Dominican star to remain with the team.

However, this moment of fan enthusiasm didn’t sit well with Yankees’ captain Aaron Judge – himself on course for records – who admitted he “wasn’t too happy” with the timing of the chants, as they occurred during Trent Grisham’s batting, the player who was filling in for Soto in the outfield. Grisham promptly responded, though, by hitting a three-run home run off a Tyler Glasnow fastball, which seemed to make a point.
