New recruit in their sights: This is who the Yankees are targeting
With a tough season finale ahead, the New York Yankees are looking to strengthen their roster before the MLB trade deadline.

The New York Yankees have slipped from the top spot in the American League East and now sit in second place with a 48–39 record, trailing the Toronto Blue Jays (49–38).
Manager Aaron Boone has been forced to shuffle the lineup due to a string of injuries, and third base has emerged as a particularly pressing concern.
Jazz Chisholm Jr. and DJ LeMahieu have both filled in at the hot corner, but neither is a long-term solution.

Yankees looking at third-base targets
According to Jon Heyman of the New York Post, the Yankees have begun exploring trade options to shore up third base ahead of the July 31 deadline.
One name that has surfaced is Ryan McMahon of the Colorado Rockies. McMahon is considered one of the league’s top defensive third basemen, ranking eighth in defensive WAR (0.7) this season.
Other potential targets include Ke’Bryan Hayes of the Pittsburgh Pirates, Venezuelan Luis Rengifo of the Los Angeles Angels, and Isiah Kiner-Falefa, also with the Pirates.
