Estados Unidos Update:

Looking to claw their way back into relevance this MLB season, the Los Angeles Angels found the perfect stage to make a statement – a three-game sweep of the Dodgers, with Shohei Ohtani watching from the other dugout.

Travis d’Arnaud delivered the decisive blow in the series finale, launching a solo home run in the eighth inning to break a tie and seal a dramatic win for the visitors at Dodger Stadium.

Angels stun Dodgers with first city sweep in 14 years

The Angels, still languishing at the bottom of the American League West with a 20-25 record, now sit six games behind the division-leading Seattle Mariners (26-19). But this sweep – their first against the Dodgers since 2010 – offers a rare bright spot in a season short on highlights.

The Dodgers, now 29-18, remain atop the National League West, just ahead of the San Diego Padres (27-18). But their pitching staff had no answers for the Angels’ bats in the first two games of the series. Los Angeles (the red one) hit .307 over those two nights, racking up 17 runs, four home runs and eight doubles.
