Puerto Rico vs Mexico: possible starting lineups for 2023 WBC quarterfinals | starting pitchers
The World Baseball Classic is into the quarterfinals and we look ahead to Mexico’s clash with Puerto Rico.
Mexico come into this World Baseball Classic quarterfinal as Pool C winners, taking apart Canada 10-3 -- with Randy Arozarena in fine form -- to top Pool C over the United States. Second spot in Pool D was snatched by Puerto Rico with a final day 5-2 win over the Dominican Republic. Now the two teams go head-to-head for a coveted place in the international semifinals, with Japan awaiting the victor.
That win for Puerto Rico was marred by the injury to Edwin Diaz as he celebrated. A torn patellar tendon in his right knee means he’ll miss the rest of the tournament. So let’s check who is available to start in this latest matchup.
