The start of the Tampa Bay Rays has been encouraging for their fans. This Thursday, they made history after beating the Boston Red Sox 9-3 and reaching 13 victories to equal the record of the Atlanta Braves in 1982 and the 1987 Milwaukee Brewers.

One of the figures in Tampa Bay is the Mexican, Randy Arozarena, who started the season on fire with 15 hits and three home runs to find himself among the leaders of the Major Leagues.

Now, the Rays want to keep winning and achieve a record that dates back to 1884 and belongs to the St. Louis Maroons, who, in the Union Association (today’s MLB), achieved 20 consecutive victories at the start of the season.

The road to the season is still long, and a curious fact is that all the teams that have faced Kevin Cash’s team have been on a losing record. On Friday, however, they will be put to the test against Vladimir Guerrero’s Blue Jays in Toronto.

To achieve the Maroons record, the Rays need to sweep the series against the Blue Jays and Reds as well as win the first against the White Sox. Can they continue to make history?
