The New York Yankees are clear that they must strengthen their squad for the 2024 MLB season and the names of the players they could be interested in have begun to emerge in recent days.

One new name that has joined the list of players that the ‘Bronx Bombers’ could integrate into their squad is that of the Houston Astros third baseman: Alex Bregman.

The team’s needs point mainly to a pitcher, although the third base position could also be covered by an experienced player. In the case of Bregman, he is entering the final year of his contract with the Astros, who would be considering offering him an extension of his contract but whose priority is the Venezuelan, José Altuve.

The 29-year-old Astros player has just consolidated a campaign with averages of .262/.363/.44; with .884 OPS; 25 home runs, 28 doubles and 98 RBIs. He was the leader in assists among third basemen with 281 in the American League, was second in double plays with 30 and fourth in fielding percentage with .963.

As for the the rumors, it is mentioned that the Yankees could be willing to offer players like Jasson Domínguez or Spencer Jones; while Everson Pereira h also mentioned along with a pitcher from the Bronx ninth.

Other names that have been mooted as possible reinforcements for the New York Yankees are the Japanese pitcher Yoshinobu Yamamoto and the San Diego Padres player, Juan Soto.
