Judge is a candidate to win the American League MVP award, but his performance in the 2024 postseason has been disappointing.
The New York Yankees and Los Angeles Dodgers play game three tonight of the 2024 World Series, and one of the most important players in all of Major League Baseball is Aaron Judge, the outfielder for the “Bronx Bombers,” who is struggling at the plate during the playoffs and first two games of the World Series.

Unfortunately for fans of the Yankees, though, Judge has struggled during the postseason. His batting average is currently at .150, with just six hits in 40 at-bats during the Division Series against the Kansas City Royals, the Championship Series against the Cleveland Guardians and the first two games of the World Series in Los Angeles.
His postseason on-base percentage is .280 and his slugging percentage is at .325. The most alarming statistic of all is his strikeout percentage, which is currently at 38% with 19 Ks in 50 plate appearances.
Judge, who led the regular season with 58 home runs, has only hit two homers in the 2024 postseason During the regular season, he averaged a home run every 2.7 games, but in the postseason he hasn’t been himself.
The Yankees outfielder is hoping to regain his mojo in New York. A lot of that will depend on the Yankees fans and their reaction to No. 99 when he takes the field at Yankee Stadium Monday night. The outfielder will need the support of the fans to get out of the slump and improve his production at the plate.
A ray of hope for Judge
Although Judge hasn’t performed at his best, there is a glimmer of hope for him in the World Series. On Wednesday he will be facing Walker Buehler, who will be taking the mound for the Dodgers. The LA pitcher has struggled this season after coming back from Tommy John surgery. On paper the Yankees should be able to do some damage, but the Dodgers’s manager is confident in his starter. “We love Walker in big games,” Dave Roberts said. “The road isn’t going to faze him.” The Lexington, Kentucky native will need to have his best stuff to win game 3 against the Bronx bombers.
