Update:

She’s done it again. Caitlin Clark has broken another WNBA record, this time in fan engagement.

The 23-year-old for the Indiana Fever has become the first player ever to receive over 1.2 million fan votes for an All-Star Game - and can you guess who she beat?

Herself.

Yes, Clark surpassed her own record from the previous year, during which she also took the game to new heights. Three other Indiana Fever players joined Clark in the top 10 rankings: Aliyah Boston, Kelsey Mitchell and Lexie Hull. Clark earned 1,293,526 votes from fans, with Napheesa Collier close behind at 1,176,020.

Clark ended the season with a groin injury, taking her total number of season absences up to seven, having previously dealt with a quadriceps issue. That did not, however, stop her from an extended run of exceptional performances; ending the campaign at the top of the assist charts, Clark averaged 18.2 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 8.9 assists per game, solidifying her status as arguably the leading figure in women’s basketball.

Clark’s talent led the Fever to an historic campaign, seeing a significant turnaround during the year, finishing with a .500 record of 20–20, handing the side their first playoff appearance since 2016.

Clark’s on-court influence will be pivotal in the upcoming 2025 WNBA All-Star Game, where she will serve as a team captain for the first time. The game is scheduled for July 19 at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, and Clark will select her team alongside co-captain Napheesa Collier of the Minnesota Lynx. The game will be broadcast on ABC, Disney+, and ESPN+ at 8:30 p.m. ET.
