Denver Nuggets signing for new season, a double-digit scorer, has fans excited
The Denver outfit have sealed the signing of a high-level scorer, with fans excited for the new season.
Reports suggest that the Denver Nuggets have moved to sign young guard Curtis Jones to a two-way deal for the upcoming season.
Signed as an undrafted free agent on an Exhibit 10 deal on June 27, 2025, Jones immediately joined the Nuggets’ Las Vegas Summer League roster. During the tournament he shone, averaging 14.6 points, 4.4 rebounds and 3.8 assists per game across just five appearances. Clearly, these strong performances caused the directors to look favourably upon him and make the decision to put the paper in front of the 23-year-old.
NBA insider Shams Charania broke the news on social media: “The Denver Nuggets are signing guard Curtis Jones to a two-way NBA contract, agent Austin Walton of NEXT Sports tells ESPN.”
Across his short career, Jones has steadily improved each season, culminating in a breakout year in 2024–25 at Iowa State. Over 34 games (including nine starts), he averaged 17.4 points, 4.2 rebounds, 2.3 assists, and 1.1 steals in 30.6 minutes per game, shooting 43.0% from the field, 37.4% from three, and 84.5% from the free-throw line.
In the previous season (2023–24), with Iowa State, Jones averaged 11.0 points, 2.9 rebounds, and 2.0 assists per game, shooting 39.0% from the floor and 35.1% from three.
The Nuggets wrapped up the regular season with a 50–32 record, finishing second in the Northwest Division and earning the 4th seed in the Western Conference. In the playoffs, the Nuggets battled through a resilient first-round series against the Clippers, prevailing in 7 games. However, that momentum didn’t carry through, as Denver fell to the top-seeded Oklahoma City Thunder in a dramatic 4–3 second-round defeat.
