Update:
The Boston Celtics tied up the Easter Conference Finals with a thumping 102-82 win over the Miami Heat. The series now heads south for Game 5 tied at 2-2.

White fills in for Smart in Game 4

Tatum and the Celtics were a perfect 4-0 in the playoffs coming off of losses, and stretched that streak to 5 straight wins on the rebound with the Game 4 victory on Monday night.

Boston got a big response from their super star Jayson Tatum who scored just 10 points in the Game 3 loss, but it was Derrick White who got things rolling early for the Celtics. He started in place of the injured Marcus Smart and had the game’s first seven points and finished the first quarter with 10.

While White got the Celtics out of the gate on the right foot, it was the defense that helped build a big early lead that Boston would hang on to for the rest of the game. They held the Heat scoreless for the first four minutes of the game, and didn’t allow a field goal for the first eight minutes of the game.

Tatum making a habit of hot starts

After jumping out to an 18-1 run, the Tatum and the Celtics continued to build upon their lead early on. Boston extended their cushion over the Heat to 24 at halftime as Tatum went for 20+ in the first half for the third time this series.

The lead stretched all the way to 32 in the second half and the Heat starters were limited to just 18 points in Game 4, and if it wasn’t for Victor Oladipo’s 23 points.

Tatum finished the game with 31 points, eight rebounds and five assists, while four other Celtics posted double digits including Payton Pritchard who had 14 on the night.

Stay tuned for Game 5 on Wednseday
