Juan Toscano Lakers debut: When is JTA’s first game? Date and time
Juan Toscano-Anderson talks about his first day of practice with the Los Angeles Lakers, and when we might see him on the floor in Laker purple
After working out with the team, the former Golden State Warrior and newest Laker signee Juan Toscano-Anderson spoke with the media about how it is all going.
“We’re still kind of learning one another but the IQ, the level of thinking is still very high, the intensity level is still very high, the attention to detail is still at a championship level.”
After three seasons, and a championship ring, with the Golden State Warriors, many thought that he had the talent to make their starting lineup, but with such a stacked house it was just not to be. Asked about his chances of making the starting five for the Lakers, JTA replied, “Everybody wants to start, let’s not sit here and act like guys don’t want to start. Now, is starting the biggest deal in the world? No. Everybody just wants to play.”
That is not to say that he is resigned to anything, clarifying that he will be fighting as hard as anybody for the job.
“Everybody’s very excited for the opportunities that are there, and everybody’s trying to take those opportunities. And so we are going to compete.”
Whether as a starter or off the bench, we will get our first look at the new SoCal transplant in the Lakers first pre season game when the Sacramento Kings come to town on Tuesday, October 4. Tip off is set for 10:30 p.m. ET.
