With emotions still running high following their Game 3 loss, the Warriors and their fans are understandably not happy. Yet for some it wasn’t just the result, but rather the behavior of the fans which was the issue. Just ask Warriors stars Klay Thompson and Draymond Green’s wife.

Boston Celtics fans were rowdy on Wednesday night

On Wednesday night the Golden State Warriors took a tough loss on the road in Game 3 of the NBA Finals at Boston in the TD Garden. With a score of 116-100, one could say it was more or less smooth sailing for the Celtics who now have a 2-1 lead in the series. Needless to say the Celtics fans were in rip roaring form on the night and that in itself is part of the issue now being raised. From the start of the night it was obvious that the fans were prepared to be the 6th man on the court as the greeted Warriors star Draymond Green with a chorus of boos. Green of course has been a focal point for the Celtics’ ire having bullied them physically across the first two games. Indeed, the Boston’s faithful continued to chant a specific refrain throughout the game and let’s just say it was one that some took issue with.

Klay Thompson responds to Celtics fans’ behavior

“F*** you, Draymond,” were the words that could be heard across the arena repeatedly and they were words that did not sit well with Klay Thompson or the wife of Draymond Green. Thompson was understandably not in the mood for jokes following the loss, but he did make special mention of the chant about his teammate saying, “We’ve played in front of rude people before,” Thompson said. “Dropping F-bombs with children in the crowd. Really classy. Good job, Boston.” Incidentally, Warriors coach Steve Kerr also echoed the sentiment when asked about the chat with the simple response, “Classy, very classy.”

Hazel Renee Green claps back at Celtics fans

While one can imagine that Draymond Green himself - given his personality - is not likely to have been bothered at all by the chant, his wife Hazel Renee Green most definitely didn’t see it as something that she could let slide. Green took to Instagram late on Wednesday night where she laid in to the Celtics fans calling their behavior “disgusting” in the wake of their chant which was shouted with many children in the crowd. The Warriors star’s wife went on make it very clear where she stood. “Warriors fans would NEVER!!” Renee wrote while citing the NBA code of conduct for fans. “My kids were at the game tonight hearing that mess! Very DISGUSTING of you little Celtics fans Just shameful!”
