LeBron James just doesn’t stop hitting the big ones in his long career in the National Basketball Association. Just a couple of days ago, he surpassed the 40,000-point milestone, a feat that seems impossible to break.

LeBron to be first to hit $500 million

To add to his accomplishments, there’s another milestone on the verge of being broken, but this time it’s in the realm of finances. If he remains active for the next season with the Los Angeles Lakers, he will activate his player option in exchange for $51.4 million.

Following this event, he will become the first player to amass $500 million in earnings from NBA basketball salaries. According to information from Spotrac, the ‘King’ James has accumulated $479.6 million in contracts up to this season, and for the following year, it will reach $531 million.

The four-time MVP has, however, hinted at retirement. There have also been suggestions that he is considering entering free agency and expressing his desire to share the court with his eldest son, Bronny James. However, if he remains with the Californian team, he will surpass the aforementioned economic milestone with his NBA employment contracts.
