Nuggets 104 vs 118 Warriors summary, stats, scores and highlights | NBA

SAN FRANCISCO (United States), 05/04/2025.- Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry (C) shoots a three point basket against the Denver Nuggets during the first half of the NBA game between the Denver Nuggets and the Golden State Warriors in San Francisco, California, USA, 04 April 2025. You can see this team starting to believe. Draymond said it at the All-Star game. He said the Warriors are going to win it all. The way they are playing, I don't think a whole lot of people would dare to bet against them. They look like they can beat any team, any time, any where.

Curry added the cherry on top with this and-1 and ended his night with 36 points. In the last three games he's scored 127 points and the Warriors have won five straight.

The Warriors are creeping up the standings and are just a half game behind the Lakers who are in 3rd in the West.

as.com

Jimmy Butler had a quite night against the Lakers but haad 19, 3 and 5 assists and the Warriors improved to 21-4 since the trade when Jimmy is on the floor.

as.com

The Warriors stretched the lead out to double digits in the third quarter and kept that cushion for the rest of the way. The Warriors had no answer for Curry

as.com

Jokic came out hot in the third quarter, hitting four threes in a matter of minutes but the Nuggets couldn't hang with the easy buckets the Warriors were getting. Jokic ended the night with 33, 12 and 9 but Golden State made some adjustments that kept the Joker contained for the second half.

as.com

Curry is in his bag right now. Not tonight. Not last night. This is his time and don't expect him to start slowing down when the games start to matter more and more.

as.com

Curry had 12 points in the second quarter, but it was the second unit that made a run to take the lead early in that quarter to give the Warriors a lead they would hang on to for the rest of the night.

as.com

It wasn't just Curry, everyone was getting involved from downtown. Golden State went 42.1% from downtown hitting 16 threes against a Nuggets team that was with out their floor general Jamal Murray.

as.com

Curry and the Warriors were on the back end of a back to back series and after dropping 52 two games ago, and 37 last night against the Lakers, Curry came out firing.

as.com

The Golden State Warriors returned home after a six game road trip and rattled off their fifth straight win on Friday night against the Denver Nuggets. Stephen Curry led the way with 36 points in the 118-104 win from Chase Center.

It was the Nuggets who came out hot hitting 71% of their shots in the first quarter as Nikola Jokic carried his team with 15 first quarter points. They got out to an early double digit lead, but Golden State responded and took control the rest of the way.

The Warriors are going with the same starting five that worked for them last night in LA. It's Curry, Podziemski, Butler, Looney and Green to start the game. Last game it was BP with the monster start. Who will be the one to set the tone tonight?

as.com

The Nuggets will be without Jamal Murray for another game, but their starting five sees Jokic, Gordon, MPJ and Gordon on the floor. Peyton Watson is in the back court for Denver and it will probably be Braun handling the ball handling duties at the start of the game.

MVP race is on fire

The playoff race isn’t the only race heating up in the final stretch of the season. The MVP race seems to be reopened after Jokic’s 60 point triple double. Many thought and still think that Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is in line to win is first MVP, after leading the Thunder to the one seed in the West and leading the league in scoring dropping 32.8 point a night. The Thunder’s season has been incredible and Shai has been the anchor. While SGA is enjoying his best season ever, what Jokic is has been doing this year maybe the most incredible single season we have ever seen. He’s averaging a triple double which is remarkable in itself, but it’s not unheard of. Russell Westbrook did that four different times and Oscar Robertson did it once in the 60s. What makes Jokic’s season so impressive is he is in the top 2 or three in points, assists and rebounds. He is 3rd in scoring at 29.7, tied for 2nd in rebounds at 12.8 along with Karl-Anthony Towns and 2nd in assists with 10.2 a game. He may not have the wins on his side like SGA does, but no one does more for their team than Joker does for the Nuggets.

Nuggets injury report

The Nuggets sat most of their stars in the loss to the San Antonio Spurs on Tuesday night, but the good news for Nugs fans IS Nikola Jokic, Aaron Gordon and Christian Braun are all probable for tonight. Jamal Murray is questionable with a hamstring injury. Murray hasn’t played since Denver’s game against the Bucks at the end of March, but is listed as a game time decision.

as.com

Curry’s full tank

At 37 years old, with less than two weeks left in the regular season, Steph Curry is looking as fresh as ever. He did have a week off after injuring his pelvic bone in a game against the Raptors a couple weeks ago. He said that week off came at the perfect time and now says “I feel in a good rhythm. The week off helped. The tank is pretty full." That is fantastic news for the Warriors who lost games to Atlanta and Miami in the days following Curry getting sidelined. He came back against the Pelicans and led them to a win in New Orleans, and Golden State hasn’t lost since his return.

NBA Standings

Taking a look at the Western Conference standings, we see the Nuggets sitting in third place behind the Thunder who have already clinched the top spot in the West, and the Houston Rockets who are three games ahead of Denver. The Nugs have a half game cushion on the Lakers and a game and a half cushion over the Warriors who are in fifth coming into the night. Behind Golden State sit the Grizzlies who are a half game back and tied with the Timberwolves in 7th place which would put them in the Play-In if the season ended today. It’s going to be a mad dash to the finish line, and the Warriors are looking to steer clear of the Play-In while hoping to climb the ladder as much as they can.

Star watch: Nuggets

Nikola Jokic has won three NBA MVPS in the last four seasons. This year he is having the best year he has ever had and even admitted it about a month ago. That’s not too typical from the Serbian who is usually modest to a fault, and genuine nonchalant attitude towards his achievements. He didn’t play against the Spurs but had one of the most outstanding stat lines the NBA has ever seen last time out. He put up 61, 10 and 10 in the double overtime loss to the Timberwolves. His 29.7 ppg are the most he’s ever averaged, his 10.2 assists a game are a career high and his 12.8 rebounds a game are second most after his second MVP season when he averaged 13.8 a game. Tonight they are going to need Jokic to do a little bit of everything if they are going to beat a red hot Warriors team at the Chase Center.

as.com

Star watch: Warriors

Stephen Curry has been on a tear since Jimmy Butler came to the Bay in a trade that changed the course of the Warriors season. Curry had a 52 point game on Tuesday night and followed that up with a 37 point night in LA last night. His 24.6 point per game are the lowest since the 2014/15 season when he averaged 23.8 ppg. His averages are up, his shooting percentages are up and the Warriors have been red hot since February. With the playoffs right around the corner Jimmy and Steph and the rest of the gang are hitting stride at just the right time.

as.com

Last game: Nuggets

The Nuggets hosted the San Antonio Spurs at Ball Arena on Wednesday night and did so with most of their stars on the bench. They had no Nikola Jokic, Jamal Murray or Aaron Gordon, so it was up to Russell Westbrook and Hunter Tyson to carry the load. The Spurs came out of the gate on a 9-0 run and kept the lead until the start of the fourth quarter. Westbrook’s 30 point night had the Nuggets in contention late in the game, but the Spurs were able to hold off the Nugs to hand Denver their second straight loss and fifth in their last eight games.

as.com

Last game: Warriors

Last night the Warriors wrapped up their six game road trip by winning their fourth game in a row. They went into Los Angeles and controlled the game for the final 40 minutes. Brandon Podziemski started off hot hitting three threes in the opening minutes of the first quarter and had 22 at halftime. The Warriors took the lead at the end of the first quarter and would hold on to it until the finish line. Steph Curry had 12 in the first half, but both him and LeBron James would catch fire out of the break. Steph had 25 points in the final 24 minutes and was there with big shot after big shot as LeBron and the Lakers tried to make a comeback bid. LeBron ended the night with 33, but Steph’s 37 and Podziemski’s 28 were enough to hold off LA for the 126-113 win.

We are live from Chase Center

Hello everyone and welcome to the Bay where the Warriors are finally back home after a six game road trip that ended with a four game win streak. Last night they went into LA and beat the Lakers in the final game of their road stretch thanks to a brilliant performance and now the Dubs are back under their own roof taking on a Denver team that is coming off back-to-back losses. The first of those came in a double overtime heart breaker to Minnesota and the next came in San Antonio as Mike Malone sat most of his heavy hitters in preparations for this game tonight. Now these two teams come into tonight knowing they need to keep winning if they are going to keep climbing the Western Conference standings.
