Sacramento Kings 125 vs 126 Golden State Warriors summary: stats and highlights | NBA Playoffs Game 4

The Golden State Warriors evened up the series at 2-2 with a narrow win over the Sacramento Kings after both teams held come court through four games.

The Golden State Warriors held off the Sacremento Kings to send the series back to Sacramento tied at 2-2 on Sunday afternoon. Steph Curry led his side to the 126-125 victory, scoring 32 points and lived to tell the story of how he almost gave the game away late in the fourth quarter.

Green give GS spark after suspension

The Warriors knew they had to take care of business at the Chase Center before heading to Sacramemto, and came out firing thanks to their backcourt. Curry, Klay Thompson and Jordan Poole jumped out of the gate hot from the field before Draymond Green made his return from a one game suspension.

After sitting out Game 3 as a result of his stomp on Domantas Sabonis Green came off the bench and provided a huge spark to the Warriors who would build an early lead thanks to six quick points from Draymond.

De’Aaron Fox didn’t let the wave of emotion affect him in a first half in which he scored 21 points. The Kings took the lead at the end of the opening quarter and held on to it until the third.

Curry’s blunder almost costs Warriors Game 4

Curry had 13 in the opening half, but after watching Fox light up the scoreboard in the first 24 minutes he countered scoring 19 after the break. Steve Kerr decided to put Draymond Green on Fox after his first half explosion and he contained the Kings top scorer to just 5 points in the third quarter. Both teams shared spurts of the lead in the third until a late run put the Warriors up 10 heading into the fourth.

That double digit advantage would disappear as Fourth Quarter Fox reappeared  scoring 12 of his 38 in for the final 12 minutes of the game. It took just three minutes for the Kings to strip the lead from the Warriors thanks to a 15-4 run, but the Warriors would punch back. Steph Curry had 11 points in the final quarter hitting some huge threes, but almost blew the game for Golden State after calling a timeout that the Warriors didn’t have up 126-121 with 42 second on the clock.

Malik Monk would hit the technical FT and then Fox would string a three to cut the deficit to one with 28 second remaining. Harrison Barnes got an open look to win the game at the buzzer, but missed the three pointer and the Warriors survived to send the series back to Sacramento tied at 2-2.

Knicks up 3-1

New York is buzzing right now after the Knicks took down the Cleveland Cavaliers in Game 4 from Madison Square Garden. They are a game away from winning their first playoff series since 2013!

as.com

Draymond is back for the Warriors, but Steve Kerr is going small to start the game against the Kings. They went small to start last game and it worked wonders for them in the wire to wire win and Warriors fans will be hoping for more of the same today.

as.com

The Kings know what they are going to get from Sabonis and Fox, but who is going to be the one to make the difference in Game 4? It was Malik Monk in Game's 1 and 2, tonight will it be Barnes? Will it be Huerter or will it be Murray?

as.com

Welcome back Wiggins

Andrew Wiggins has been sensational in his return after being away from the team for personal issues. He came back to the Warriors in Game 1 and is again proving how much he means to this team in the playoffs. He is averaging 20 points and 5 rebounds and even had 4 blocks in the Game 1 loss to the Kings.

as.com

He's baaaaack

Draymond Green is back in the Starting 5 for the Warriors after serving a one game suspension for stomping Sabonis. He has a way of sparking a fire for his team, even if he’s not on the court and that’s exactly what happened in Game 3. He may not have been playing, but the Warriors came into the game with that fight and drive we are used to seeing from the Golden State power forward. Tonight we will see how Green’s presence on the floor affects both the Warriors and the Kings.

as.com

Sacramento needs their King

De’Aaron Fox has been and is the man for the Kings this season and in this series. He had an off night in Game 3, but still finished with 26 points. Where the Kings really went wrong was their lack of productivity from role players like Malik Monk and Keegan Murray. Tonight Fox will look to put a rough shooting day in the past, hoping to get some help from some of his side kicks while awaiting Domantas Sabonis to have a break out playoff performance.

as.com

Steph stepping up

If last game showed us anything, it’s how hard it’s going to be for this Kings team to close out the Warriors. Steph Curry is going to show up when he needs to show up and in Game 3 he did that to the tune of 36 points. He is averaging more than 30 points in this series, and tonight he knows the Kings will throw everything they have at him in attempts to steal a game in the Bay.

Game 3 recap

After dropping the first two games in Sacramento, the defending champions knew Game 3 was a must win and they took it in wire-to-wire fashion as Steph Curry led the Warriors when they needed it most. The Golden State sharp shooter had 36 points on a night that Draymond Green was suspended after stomping on Domantas Sabonis in Game 2. With no Draymond, it was Kevon Looney who set the tone early on for the Warriors. He grabbed 20 rebounds, 9 on the offensive end as the Warriors controlled the battle of the boards and held the Kings to under 100 points and just 38% from the field.
