Update:

Golden State Warriors star Steph Curry seems to have finally recovered from a persistent thumb injury, per the official NBA injury report ahead of the game against the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Curry’s recovery is welcome news for Golden State. Despite the discomfort, he still managed to deliver strong performances in the playoffs, averaging 24.5 points, 4.4 rebounds and 6.0 assists per game while shooting 38.9% from beyond the arc. In the Warriors’ Game 7 win over the Houston Rockets, the Golden State star managed 22 points, 10 rebounds and seven assists.

However, while Curry being available for the Warriors, it’s not all positive news. NBA insider Brian Windhorst revealed that Curry might never fully recover, despite being given the green light to play.

Well, I would say that Steph’s thumb will not get better,” Windhorst said, per the Brian Windhorst and the Hoops Collective podcast. “It’s not like he’s going to be okay in three weeks. That might even need surgery.”

Curry admits to playing through pain

Stephen Curry himself admitted that “it hurts”, adding “but I’m not talking about this. I’m not here to discuss this. I’m here to just play. I’m just playing on this. I’m just playing through it.’

The Warriors are coming off an impressive win, having overcome the Denver Nuggets in six games. Klay Thompson led the way with 28 points, while Draymond Green also made his presence felt on both ends of the floor.

On the other side, the Minnesota Timberwolves are riding high after a decisive Game 7 victory over the Los Angeles Lakers. Anthony Edwards was the key player, scoring 33 points and sparking a second-half surge that overwhelmed L.A.
