Update:

There was much anticipation heading into Wednesday night’s game as the West’s No.1 Oklahoma City Thunder headed to Boston to take on the East’s No. 2 Celtics. Though in the end, the Thunder ended the Celtics' five-game winning streak, it was Boston who broke an NBA record.

Celtics break NBA all-time 3-point record

The Celtics, led by Jayson Tatum, made their game-plan clear in the first half. They attempted a whopping 36 threes in the firs half alone, the most in any half in NBA history. At the end of the half, they were trailing the Thunder by three (63-60).

It was Tatum who led the way for the Celtics with seven three-point attempts from deep, putting up five. Al Horford and Derrick White combined for 9-of-14 from beyond the arc in the first half.

The Celtics finished the game 20 for 63 (a franchise record), tying the third-most attempts in NBA history. Tatum put up 33 points for the Celtics while White added 22 and Holford 18.

The Thunder withstood the blunder of three-point attempts, however, beating the Celtics 118-112 to sweep the series, notch their 17th win in 18 games, and clinch their spot in the playoffs. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander was responsible for 34 points and Chet Holmgren had 23 points and 15 rebounds in the Thunder’s victory.
