It’s not about taste, it’s about timing... and the Serbian star will never forget this moment.

This is the reason why NBA legend Nikola Jokić hates Taco Bell’s Quesarito

Update:

Nikola Jokić has built a Hall of Fame résumé with a disregard for hype. Three MVPs. An NBA title. A Finals MVP. A game so smooth it barely breaks a sweat as he devours opponents with grace. And yet there is one thing the Denver Nuggets legend has never forgiven: Taco Bell’s Quesarito.

Why does Jokić not eat Taco Bell?

The beef between Jokić and the fast food giant has nothing to do with taste buds. It’s personal. Deeply personal. Here’s why…

Back in 2014, when the Nuggets selected a little known Serbian center with the 41st overall pick, Jokić should have had his moment. The camera cut. The handshake. The name called out loud.

Instead, his draft announcement was quietly scrolled across the bottom of the screen during a Taco Bell commercial. Not just any ad, either. A spot promoting the brand new Quesarito.

For Jokić, one of the most important nights of his life was wrapped in melted cheese, seasoned rice, and a corporate jingle. A career launch reduced to a lower third while America learned about a burrito inside a quesadilla. Talk about getting stuffed.

The story has followed him ever since, becoming an NBA folklore favorite. Jokić has joked that he refuses to eat Taco Bell, with the Quesarito forever associated with a draft night snub that left him off camera and off menu.

Now, with Taco Bell reviving the Quesarito for a limited run, the company has reportedly reached out to make peace. An apology, at last, served warm.

Will Jokić forgive and forget? It’s hard to say. But if anyone deserves a free Quesarito and a proper spotlight, it’s the MVP who proved you don’t need hype to dominate.

Just don’t announce it during a commercial.
