How we got here
This series has been anything but predictable. Oklahoma City appeared to seize control after taking a 3–2 lead, but the Spurs responded with their most complete performance of the playoffs in Game 6, a 118–91 blowout that flipped the narrative heading into the finale.
Victor Wembanyama led the way with 28 points and 10 rebounds, while San Antonio’s defense completely disrupted the Thunder’s offense, including a difficult night for Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.

Now, instead of closing out the series, the Thunder must regroup quickly to defend home court in the most important game of their season.
Game 7 preview: Momentum vs. pressure
The Spurs enter Game 7 with confidence and momentum after their Game 6 dominance. Their young core, led by Wembanyama, has shown the ability to control both ends of the floor, including stretches where Oklahoma City simply couldn’t score.
But history tends to favor the home team in these situations, and the Thunder will lean on that advantage. Playing in Oklahoma City, with a chance to reach the Finals, shifts pressure, but also opportunity, squarely onto their side.
Key factors that could decide the game
Wembanyama’s continued rise
Game 6 was a statement, but Game 7 is where stars define themselves. If Wembanyama delivers again, San Antonio becomes incredibly difficult to beat.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander’s response
The Thunder’s offense runs through SGA, and his struggles in Game 6 were a major factor in the loss. A bounce-back performance is essential.
Defense and pace
San Antonio’s defense has dictated large stretches of this series, including a decisive 20–0 run in Game 6 that broke things open. If the Spurs control tempo again, they could neutralize Oklahoma City’s strengths.
