Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks appeared to be on their way to leveling the Western Conference Finals in Game 2, but after putting up a challenge, the Mavs succumbed to the Golden State Warriors and Steph Curry, 126-117.

Mavs blow off significant lead

The Mavericks blew a 14-point lead that they managed to build off three-pointers, while host Golden State outpaced their opponents at home and turned out a more balanced offense.

Doncic delivered impressive numbers, racking up 42 points, eight assists, five rebounds, and three steals. Point guard Jalen Brunson backed him up with 31 points, seven rebounds, and five assists.

This was simply not enough for the Mavs to overcome the Warriors, who had six players with double-digit scores. Big man Kevon Looney contributed 21 points, the first time he ever scored more than 20 in his entire career.

Dallas will have to turn things around to avoid digging themselves into a 3-0 hole that will be virtually impossible to climb out of.
