Will Joel Embiid play for the 76ers today against the Los Angeles Clippers?
The Philadelphia 76ers star is, once again, listed on the NBA injury report ahead of his team’s upcoming game.
As the Philadelphia 76ers prepare to face the Los Angeles Clippers tonight, all eyes are on one key question for fans: will Joel Embiid get any time on the court?
After a stretch of dominant performances and some health concerns, the answer appears cautiously positive.
According to the latest injury reporting ahead of the game on Monday, February 2 2026, Embiid has been designated as probable on the official injury report. This tag suggests that 76ers fans may well get to see him play, despite a minor ankle issue that had kept him from action.
Embiid’s recent form gives Philadelphia plenty of reason for confidence. In the 76ers’ previous outing, the All-Star centre put up a 40 points in a win over the New Orleans Pelicans, as well as 4 assists and 11 rebounds.
Still, the 31-year-old’s fitness has been a nuanced narrative this season. Embiid has battled ankle soreness in recent weeks, leading to careful management of his minutes and game availability.
Statistically, Embiid has continued to assert himself as one of the league’s most impactful big men this season. Through 28 games, he is averaging 26.2 points, 7.5 rebounds and 3.9 assists per game, while shooting 49.0 per cent from the field and nearly 30 per cent from three-point range.
The 76ers will certainly need Embiid’s talent on the court when tip-off comes round, as franchise star Paul George will be forced to watch from home after being slapped with a 25-game ban for, as put by the NBA, “violating the terms of the NBA/NBPA Anti-Drug Program.”
In a statement, the player said: “Over the past few years, I’ve discussed the importance of mental health, and in the course of recently seeking treatment for an issue of my own, I made the mistake of taking an improper medication. I take full responsibility for my actions and apologize to the Sixers organization, my teammates and the Philly fans for my poor decision making during this process. I am focused on using this time to make sure that my mind and body are in the best condition to help the team when I return.”
